AIR JET OPTICAL SORTER FOR VEGETABLES, DICED TOMATO AND FRUIT.

For vegetables and diced fruit sorting Protec presents the new DixAir line of sorters. This system has proved to be the most efficient in detecting defects such as off-color, rot, and discoloration in black, green and white colors. The choice in diced tomato sorting is the DixAir T system.
DIMENSIONS (L x H x W) | CAPACITY | BELT WIDTH READING |
---|---|---|
Mod. 50 – 50 (2800 x 2700 x 1600) | 30 t/h | 500 mm |
Mod. 100 – 100 (2800 x 2700 x 1600) | 60 t/h | 1000 mm |
Mod. 150 – 150 (2800 x 2700 x 2100) | 90 t/h | 1500 mm |
*Capacity is relative to the product
The sorter uses a high-speed and high-resolution system of linear cameras, that examines the product moving on the conveyor belt. The images are analysed on an electronic card designed by Protec, that uses the latest integration and speed technology to ensure maximum performance. Defects as small as 0.5 x 0.25mm. in size are analysed in conjunction with a powerful image processing software. The latest generation cameras used ensure: increased sensitivity along the whole light spectrum used, higher speed in transferring the data and more robust mechanics in hostile environments. To guarantee uniform and continuous light onto the product, top reliability and continuity of performance over time, lighting is provided by a solid state, one of a kind, high-intensity dedicated system. Upon request, a lighting and vision system in color is available, where needed.
The sorter is also provided with a unique back-lighting device installed below the belt to illuminate the product and better show the defects. In conjunction with a powerful software, the product is examined at maximum speed, thanks to the use of microprocessors (µP), digital signal processors (DSP) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The use of Surface-mount technology (SMT) allows a great number of electronic components to be installed inside small spaces and increases the reliability of the circuitry and the components.
The conveyor belt makes maintenance easy to perform and replacement parts quick to install, by reducing to a minimum the parts to disassemble. The conveyor belts speed can be adjusted up to 4 m/s.
Product identified as unfit is rejected with a system of air nozzles, activated by solenoid valves. The number and pitch of the nozzles depend on the type of product.
The sorter is provided with a monitoring Personal Computer with Touch Screen interface. The system’s vital functions are protected from unwanted activities by access password. The software installed checks all the functions that need to be monitored: the machine’s settings can be reset automatically or manually.
The field bus used is Ethernet with TCP/IP protocol. Use of this standard allows connectivity also with a LAN to access industrial control systems or operator’s panels. It is also possible to comply with other field bus standards such as Interbus etc. The machine comes with the option to install a software with modem for remote assistance and remote diagnostics, so the systems’ functionality can be checked from a remote location, through the phone line.
